Being an ethical consumer is hard work. Everything adds up: Fair Trade food, clothing made ethically, and now companies that are owned by tobacco companies.

Worthy of a smile: Gap jeans are now made ethically in Canada...without a raise in price :)

Being and ethical consumer alway presents difficult choices. Unilever owns Dove which markets itself as "an agent of change to educate and inspire girls on a wider definition of beauty and to make them feel more confident about themselves"

Unilever also owns Axe male grooming products, which it markets with skinny bikini-clad girls throwing themselves on an Axe-wearing male.

Same company, two very different messages.
